Breath control practices to strengthen the body and mind connection
Pranayama, refers to life force cultivation in the Sanskrit language. In this class we will mostly focus on practicing breath control with pranayama exercises, and some asana/postures to warm up the spine, thorax, and awareness of the energetic body. Certain techniques are effective for strengthening the breathing muscles, core and the pelvic floor, while others focus more on soothing the nervous system. You will be shown a variety of pranayama techniques so you can determine which ones help cultivate the type of energy you personally need.
